Recovery is a community effort. Here's how you can help Rise Above Recovery build homes, hope, and healthier futures in Waterloo.

Your gift directly supports our work to secure our first sober living home and build our life skills and recovery support programming. Rise Above Recovery is an Iowa nonprofit corporation; our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt application is pending with the IRS, so gifts are not yet tax-deductible. We'll update this page as soon as our determination letter is received.
Helps stock hygiene essentials and household basics for a resident's first week.
Supports a life-skills workshop session (budgeting, résumé building, or job-readiness coaching).
Contributes toward a month of trauma-informed programming for one resident.
Every gift, at any level, helps someone rebuild their life with dignity.

Volunteer with us
We're currently in pre-development, so today's volunteer needs are focused on getting us open: fundraising events, community outreach, and administrative support. Once our first home is secured, we'll also need help with life skills workshops, mentoring, and move-in support. Complete the form below and our volunteer coordinator will follow up.
Community partnerships
We collaborate with treatment providers, faith communities, employers, landlords, and local agencies across Black Hawk County to build a stronger continuum of care for people in recovery.
If your organization, congregation, or business would like to explore a partnership — referral pathways, employment opportunities, in-kind support, or co-hosted events — we'd love to talk.
Partner types we're building relationships with
- Treatment & healthcare providers
- Faith communities and congregations
- Local employers & workforce agencies
- Landlords & housing providers
